Kedarnath Dham Prasad

One of the twelve jyotirlingas in India, Kedarnath Mandir, located in the state of Uttarakhand is one of the most important shrines of Lord Shiva in the world.

The holy temple is nestled between the snow clad mountains of Himalayas and it is believed that those who endure the long journey to get Lord Shiva’s darshan are blessed with salvation. One can absolve their sins, gain great spiritual and material happiness, and feel the power of Lord’s divine blessings at kedarnath.

The temple also has lot of mythological history behind it.

According to legend,  the Nara-Narayana manifestations of Lord Vishnu descended on Kedarnath and resurrected a Shivling to worship the Lord. Lord Shiva was greatly pleased by the devotion of his fellow Gods and offered a boon to them. Nara-Narayana requested Lord Shiva to stay in the Lingam they had created. Lord Shiva agreed and also declared that it would be known as ‘Kedar’.This is also the special place where the Pandavas also came to repent for the sins of killing their cousins – the Kauravas.
